The legendary heroes are saving the world. Garte just wants his cat back.

Legendaryn’t is a satirical JRPG about Garte Mann, an exhausted town guard who abandons his post for the most important quest of his life:

finding his missing cat.

While the legendary heroes are busy saving the world, Garte sets off on a much smaller adventure that quickly becomes stranger than expected.

But beneath the comedy, Garte is struggling with something harder to define: the feeling that his place in the world was decided for him long before he ever had a say in it.

What happens when everyone already knows what your role is supposed to be? What if being useful is not the same as being fulfilled? And what if walking away from the path laid out for you is the first meaningful choice you have made in years?

As Garte searches for Mc Muffin, the journey gradually becomes as much about questioning purpose, identity, and the roles people are expected to play as it is about finding a missing cat.

Recruit an increasingly questionable group of companions, fight bizarre enemies, explore a colorful fantasy world, and discover that not every important story needs to begin with a prophecy.

The Demo

This demo contains the opening section of Legendaryn’t and introduces Garte, the world, the core combat system, and some of the characters he will meet along the way.

Expect exploration, battles, terrible life decisions and questionable heroes.

AI-assisted tools were used in parts of the development process. Some music was AI-generated and later edited and arranged manually. The game uses a mix of existing plugins and AI-assisted custom code. Visual assets were originally created manually and, in some cases, later refined using AI-assisted tools and Photoshop.
